Microblading and mature skin...a big no-no!

Microblading is often not recommended for mature skin due to the following reasons:
1. Thinner, More Fragile Skin
As we age, the skin naturally becomes thinner and less elastic. This makes it more prone to trauma, tearing, and slower healing — increasing the risk of scarring or pigment migration during microblading.
2. Reduced Collagen and Elasticity
Less collagen means the skin doesn't "bounce back" as well, making it harder to create crisp, defined hair-like strokes. This can lead to blurred results rather than the natural, feathered effect microblading is known for.
3. Dryness and Texture Changes
Aged skin is typically drier and can have a rough or uneven texture. This affects pigment retention and may result in patchy or inconsistent healing.
4. Slower Healing & Increased Sensitivity
Older skin often takes longer to heal, increasing the risk of infection or prolonged redness. It can also be more sensitive to the tools and pigment used.
💡 Alternatives for mature clients: Microshading, Ombre Powder Brows or nano brows are often gentler and more effective, offering a softer, powdered look that heals more predictably on mature skin.
